Stephen Nolan: Do you think for example that homosexuality is disgusting?
Iris Robinson: Absolutely.

Nolan: Do you think that homosexuality should be loathed?
Iris Robinson: Absolutely.

Nolan: Do you think it is right for people to have a physical disgust towards homosexuality?
Iris Robinson: Absolutely.

Nolan: Does it make you nauseous?
Iris Robinson: Yes.
 
Nolan: Do you think that it is something that is shamefully wicked and vile?
Iris Robinson: Yes, of course it is, it's an abomination.

 

 

 

 

I am glad Peter Robinson has stepped down as First Minister in NI, for the simple reason I cannot think of any other western democracy where the most senior politician in the land could know about his wife's fraudulent activity and still stay in office.

Yes I am sad for Iris - she is obviously not well; and she has obviously brought a lot of it on herself. You cannot wheel & deal tens of thousands of pounds behind peoples backs, hold an affair with a toyboy while lambasting homosexuals as an abomination, and be a totally content and whole person.

My political prejudice's are no secret, and I certainly have very little time for a conservative DUP philosophy ... but Peter & Iris have always been welcome to my house for food and if they ever want to take up the offer I'll cook them a nice peppered chicken.

But I am glad they are both, at least temporarily, off the main stage of NI politics.

Well done Selwyn Black - it is good for politicians to know there are people who will not put up with fraudulent behaviour amongst our elected officials.
